MTU8 UHF Mini Transmitter
The only mini transmitter designed and built for fitness instructors. No belt pack, no cable down your back — the MTU8 mounts directly on your Aeromic, Cyclemic, or E-Mic headset. Sweat-sealed with O-rings, a marine-grade coated circuit board, and a sealed push-button switch. 8-channel UHF, pairs with Fitness Audio U-Series receivers.
Powered by a single AAA battery, the MT-U8 delivers long-lasting, crystal-clear transmission in a lightweight 35g bodypack that stays discreet and secure throughout even the most demanding schedules.
Small. Durable. Built for daily commercial fitness use.

About the MTU8
The MTU8 was engineered specifically to survive the fitness studio — it's the only mini transmitter designed and built for fitness and dance instruction.
Engineered Against Sweat at Every Entry Point
- O-ring seals keep moisture out of the housing
- Marine-grade lacquered circuit board survives what gets through
- Single sealed push-button on/off switch — no exposed slider to corrode

Wear It Your Way
Mount the MTU8 directly on the frame of your Aeromic, Cyclemic, or E-Mic and teach completely cable-free — or wear it in a mini pouch on your arm or waist. Antenna wire length options match your wearing position (on-head, armband, or waist pouch).
8 Channels: Clear Air Anywhere
The 8-channel frequency-agile UHF selector lets you find clear spectrum even in crowded urban airwaves — and lets one spare MTU8 serve as backup across multiple systems in your facility. Just dial it to the channel you need. Pairs with Fitness Audio U-Series receivers (SDR-5616).
Clean Transmission, No Pops
Tone-coded transmission eliminates spurious emissions and the on/off "pop" — no mute switch needed. Power on, clip in, teach.
Simple Power
Runs approximately 5 hours on a single AAA battery. One battery, one class day, no proprietary charging docks.
FAQ
Is this a complete microphone system?
No — this is the transmitter only. A complete Mini-TX system needs three parts: a headset microphone (Aeromic, Cyclemic, or E-Mic in the Mini-TX version), the MTU8 transmitter, and a Fitness Audio U-Series receiver connected to your sound system. If you're starting from scratch, check out our complete Mini-TX system bundles instead.
Do I need to wear a belt pack?
No — that's the point. The MTU8 mounts directly on the frame of your headset, so there's no belt pack and no cable running down your back. If you prefer, you can also wear it in a mini pouch on your arm or waist.
Which headsets does it work with?
The Mini-TX versions of the Aeromic, Cyclemic, and E-Mic. It is not compatible with headsets terminated for other brands (Shure, Sennheiser, AKG/Samson, or Audio-Technica connectors).
Will it work with my existing receiver?
he MTU8 pairs with Fitness Audio U-Series receivers (like the SDR-5616). It will not transmit to Shure, Sennheiser, Samson, or other brands' receivers. Make sure your transmitter's frequency group matches your receiver's — if you're adding to an existing Fitness Audio setup, check the frequency group on your current gear before ordering, or choose the "match my system" option and we'll take care of it.
What does "8-channel" mean, and why does it matter?
Within your frequency group, the MTU8 can switch between 8 channels. That gives you two big advantages: in cities with crowded airwaves, you can dial to a clear channel; and in multi-studio facilities, one spare MTU8 can back up several systems — just switch it to whichever channel the class needs.
Can I run more than one MTU8 at the same time?
Yes — multiple systems can operate in the same facility, each transmitter set to its own channel with its own receiver. Two transmitters cannot share one channel and one receiver at the same time, though.
How does the battery work?
It runs approximately 5 hours on a single standard AAA battery — no proprietary charging dock. We recommend starting each teaching day with a fresh battery.
How sweat-resistant is it really?
The MTU8 is sealed at every point sweat normally gets in: O-ring seals on the housing, a marine-grade lacquered circuit board inside, a single sealed push-button on/off switch, and a sweat-resistant mic connector. It's rated for up to 3 non-consecutive classes per day per unit — facilities running more classes should rotate between transmitters so each one gets time to dry. (Note: heated-studio use is excluded from standard sweat ratings — see hot yoga guidance.)
Why is there no mute switch?
You don't need one. The MTU8 uses tone-coded transmission, which eliminates the "pop" you'd normally hear over the sound system when a transmitter powers on or off. Turn it on before class, off after — no pops, no fumbling for a mute button mid-class.
How should I care for it between classes?
Let it air-dry fully between uses (don't seal it wet in a gym bag), rotate units if you teach back-to-back, and consider a sweat protector wrap for heavy-sweat formats. Wipe the connector dry before storage.
What frequency groups are available?
Ten FCC-compliant UHF groups for the US market: 520A, 520B, 536A, 536B, 540A, 540B, 560A, 560B, 580A, and 580B. If you're unsure which to pick, choose the default option and we'll match the best group for your location
