FAQ
What's included in the box?
SDR-5616 receiver, SM716 transmitter, Aeromic AM11LS headset with T4 MultiMic connector, DC power supply, and 1/4" audio cable.
Does the 2-year Aeromic sweat warranty apply?
Yes. The Aeromic headset carries its full conditional warranty regardless of which Fitness Audio system it's paired with.
Why this over the UTX16 + Aeromic system?
Price and simplicity. The U-Series SM716 is the original — no display, no menus, one switch. It runs on a 9V and has been proving itself in studios for 15+ years. The UTX16 adds rechargeable batteries, an LCD, and dock charging at a higher price point. Same receiver, same headset, same sweat protection. The choice comes down to whether rechargeable and a display matter to you.
Can I upgrade to the UTX16 transmitter later?
Yes. Buy the UTX16 standalone, set it to the same channel as your receiver, and you're running. The receiver stays the same.
Do I need a Pouchbelt?
Yes. The SM716 should be worn in a Pouchbelt — the neoprene protects the transmitter from sweat and the vertical pouch prevents cable stress at the connector. The Standard Pouchbelt is the most popular choice. For cycling, consider the Hipster for angled cable routing.
Should I add a second headset for rotation?
If your studio runs more than 3-4 classes per day on one headset, rotating two Aeromics — one drying while the other is in use — more than doubles the life of both.
