FAQ
What's included in the box?
SDR-5616 receiver, SM716 transmitter, Cyclemic CM11LS headset with T4 MultiMic connector, DC power supply, and 1/4" audio cable.
Why the Cyclemic instead of the Aeromic for cycling?
The frame. The J-curve is shaped for the forward-leaning bike position and channels sweat away from the capsule. The Aeromic works for cycling too, but the Cyclemic was designed specifically for instructors who primarily teach from the bike.
Does the 2-year sweat warranty apply?
Yes. Full conditional coverage — up to 7 classes a day, 7 days a week.
Should I get this or the MTU8 + Cyclemic cable-free system?
Depends on whether the cable bothers you on the bike. The U-Series uses a beltpack on your waist with a cable running up to the headset. The MTU8 puts the transmitter on the headset frame — no cable, nothing on your waist. If the cable catching on handlebars is a problem, go MTU8. If you're fine with a Pouchbelt and cable, the U-Series is proven and typically priced lower.
Which Pouchbelt for cycling?
The Hipster. Its 45-degree angled pouch puts the on/off switch at your fingertips on the bike and routes the cable under your arm. The Standard Pouchbelt works too, but the Hipster was designed for the cycling position.
Can I upgrade to the UTX16 transmitter later?
Yes. Same receiver. Buy the UTX16 standalone, match the channel, and you have rechargeable batteries and an LCD without replacing anything else.
Can I add a second Cyclemic for rotation?
Yes. In cycling rooms running 5+ classes daily, rotating two headsets — one drying while the other is in use — is the best way to extend equipment life. Order a Cyclemic headset with T4 connector and an additional SM716 or UTX16 transmitter.
