Yes. The Aeromix 3+5LS is a standard 1U rack-mount unit, fitting any 19-inch equipment rack. It occupies exactly one rack unit of vertical space. Standard rack ear mounting holes are built into both ends of the front panel faceplate — no special adapters required.

It can also be placed on a flat shelf or AV furniture surface without rack mounting if preferred.

The 3+5LS runs on 24V DC via an external power supply unit (PSU) that is included in the box. The 24V supply was specifically chosen to deliver the quietest noise floor of any fitness mixer on the market — the higher DC voltage significantly reduces audio hum and interference common in gym environments.

The DC barrel input is located on the far left of the rear panel, labeled 24V DC IN.

When triggered by a fire alarm system, the EVAC link automatically mutes all music while keeping microphone channels live — ensuring instructor voice commands remain audible during evacuation. Connection is via the green screw-terminal block labeled CONTROL on the rear panel.

EVAC integration requirements vary by jurisdiction. Consult your building contractor or AV installer to confirm local fire code compliance before installation.

There are 3 microphone inputs total. Two are combo XLR/6.35mm jack inputs on the rear panel (MIC 1 INPUT and MIC 2 INPUT) — accepting both balanced XLR from a wireless mic receiver and a 6.35mm jack (balanced or unbalanced). Balanced XLR is recommended for wireless receivers as it is less susceptible to noise and interference.

The third is a 3.5mm jack on the front panel labeled Alt. Mic 2 — ideal for visiting instructors who can plug in directly from the front without touching the rear panel. Each rear XLR input has an individual TRIM control. The mixer also supplies +15V phantom power.

There are 5 stereo music inputs: one front-panel iJax 6.35mm jack input (connect phones via the included iJax 3.5mm adapter cable), three standard RCA stereo pairs on the rear for media players and virtual class systems, and one dedicated BGM (Background Music) RCA stereo input on the rear panel.

The BGM input is controlled by a rear-panel screw trimmer only — the front-panel Music Vol. knob has no effect on it. This prevents unauthorised volume changes to background music or between-class playlists.

L/R Stereo Outputs — two 6.35mm TRS jacks at 1V nominal, for connecting to a power amplifier or installed sound system.

Subwoofer / Mono Output — 6.35mm TRS with a built-in selectable crossover (50Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, or Bypass) and a Mono mode switch.

MOM (Music Only Monitor) Output — sends music signal only, with microphone excluded. Useful for secondary zones or clean music-only recording.

MOM stands for Music Only Monitor. This output carries the music signal only — all microphone channels are excluded. Common uses: feeding background music to a reception area, hallway, or warm-up zone where you want music but not instructor voice; sending a clean music-only feed to a recording device; or driving a secondary amplifier zone with music only.

The 3+5LS has a built-in A/D (analog-to-digital) converter board connected to a USB Type-B DIGITAL OUT port on the rear panel. It converts your complete mixed signal — voice over music — to digital audio and sends it directly to a Mac or PC via a standard USB-B cable.

Your computer recognises the mixer as a standard USB audio device. No drivers are required on Mac, and most Windows systems are plug-and-play. In Zoom, Teams, or any streaming platform, select the Aeromix 3+5LS as your audio input source.

No external audio interface is required. This replaces a separate USB audio interface entirely.

Once set during installation, the front-panel volume knob only operates within that ceiling — no instructor, member, or substitute can exceed it. The Audio Slap is Fitness Audio's integrated sound limiting circuit. When audio exceeds a pre-set threshold, it automatically cuts music by –15 dB — a sharp, noticeable reduction that signals to the instructor the level is too high, without killing the system entirely.

The front-panel LIMIT ON red LED illuminates when limiting is active. The LIMITING yellow LED flashes at the moment of limiting. Threshold is adjusted via the rear LIMIT THRESHOLD screw trimmer. The circuit can be toggled off via the rear LIMITER OFF / SLAP switch.
