FM-41
Own your performance — and your hygiene — with the FM41 Solo Instructor Mic, a lightweight fitness headset microphone designed for individual instructors who want reliable audio without sharing sweaty studio gear.
Purpose-built for light-to-moderate class schedules, the FM41 delivers clear vocal projection in a durable, sweat-resistant design ideal for yoga, Pilates, aerobics, and general group fitness. Its sealed microphone capsule protects against moisture exposure, while the flexible steel-spring frame provides a secure, comfortable fit across extended sessions.
A standout feature of the FM41 is its universal replaceable cable system — allowing you to swap connectors instead of replacing the entire headset if wear occurs. This significantly extends product lifespan and reduces long-term ownership cost.
Affordable, dependable, and instructor-focused, the FM41 is the perfect entry point into professional fitness audio.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions by current and future customers
Who is the FM-41 for?
Solo instructors who want their own mic instead of using the gym's shared headset. Part-time teachers doing up to 7 classes a week. Yoga, Pilates, barre, light aerobics, and general group fitness. If you teach more than 7 classes a week or sweat heavily, the EMic or Aeromic is a better fit.
How does the replaceable cable work?
The cable screws into the base of the headset. Unscrew one, screw in another. Takes 10 seconds. If you teach at a gym with Shure transmitters and another with AKG, buy a T4 cable and a T3 cable — one mic covers both. If a cable wears out, replace just the cable for about $15 instead of buying a new headset.
What transmitters does it work with?
T4 cable works with Fitness Audio, Shure, Chiayo, Mipro, JTS, and other 4-pin mini-XLR transmitters. T3 cable works with AKG and Samson. 3.5mm cable works with Sennheiser. You can order multiple cables and swap between studios.
Is it sweat-resistant?
The capsule is sealed and water-resistant. It handles light-to-moderate sweat from yoga, Pilates, barre, and moderate-intensity group fitness. It's not built for daily high-sweat classes like HIIT, cycling, or hot yoga — for those, the EMic or Aeromic has heavier sweat protection.
How is this different from the EMic?
The FM-41 is lighter-duty and about half the price. The EMic adds a noise-cancelling capsule, steel cable, reinforced frame, and is rated for 20 classes a week. The FM-41's advantage is the replaceable cable system — the EMic cable is fixed. If you teach at multiple studios with different transmitter brands, the FM-41 is the more flexible choice at the entry level.
When should I upgrade?
When your schedule outgrows 7 classes a week, or when you start teaching higher-sweat formats regularly. The EMic ($249) handles 20 classes/week with noise cancellation. The Aeromic ($449) handles 50+ with a 2-year sweat warranty. Think of the FM-41 as the starting point — not the ceiling.
Does it need a wireless transmitter?
Yes. The FM-41 is the headset mic only. It plugs into a wireless bodypack transmitter via the cable. If you don't have a wireless system, check our complete kits — the Instructor Starter Kit includes everything.
Can I use this for hot yoga or cycling?
Not recommended for regular use in heated studios or heavy cycling schedules. The sealed capsule handles some moisture, but the FM-41 isn't built for the extreme sweat exposure those formats produce day after day. The Cyclemic (cycling) or Aeromic (hot yoga, HIIT, heavy sweat) are the right picks for those environments.
What's included?
FM-41 headset, one connector cable in your selected type (T4, T3, or 3.5mm), one windscreen, and a user manual. Additional connector cables available separately.
