Why this over the MTU8 + Aeromic for cycling?
The frame. The Cyclemic's J-curve is shaped specifically for the forward-leaning position on the bike. It channels sweat to drip off instead of pooling at the capsule. The Aeromic's PhatFrame headband works for cycling too, but the Cyclemic was designed for instructors who primarily teach from the bike.
Does the 2-year sweat warranty apply?
Yes. The Cyclemic carries the full 2-year conditional sweat warranty - up to 7 classes a day, 7 days a week.
Do I need the Yoga Wrap for cycling?
If your cycling room is heated or you sweat extremely heavily, yes. The Yoga Wrap adds a neoprene barrier around the MTU8 transmitter. For standard-temperature cycling rooms, the MTU8's own sealing typically handles it.
Can I use this for non-cycling classes?
Yes. The Cyclemic works for any class. The J-curve frame is optimized for forward-leaning positions, so if you also teach standing formats, the Aeromic's PhatFrame is a more versatile fit. For studios that primarily run cycling with occasional other formats, the Cyclemic handles both.
Can I add a second Cyclemic + MTU8 for rotation?
Yes. Order the MTU8 + Cyclemic Headset Kit (no receiver). Rotating two headsets in a high-volume cycling room more than doubles the life of both.
How is this different from a U-Series beltpack system with a Cyclemic?
Same receiver, same headset, different transmitter. The beltpack system puts the transmitter on your waist with a cable running up to the headset. This system puts the transmitter on the headset frame -nothing on your waist, no cable to catch on the bike. On a cycling bike specifically, cable-free is a significant upgrade.
